Performance as Code – Let’s Make it a Standard!
Standardizing “Performance as Code” for Modern (Micro-)Service Applications for automated testing, monitoring & alerting!
A modern (Micro-)Service developer knows what the key endpoints are, knows the key KPIs and knows what should be done in case of a problem. I am proposing a standard for “Performance as Code” that becomes part of the deployment, e.g: Kubernetes /health endpoints. This helps tool vendors (testing, monitoring, alerting, auto-remediation, ..) to automatically test key endpoints, automatically monitor key KPIs, automatically alert and automatically execute correct remediation actions and notify the right channels – all based on the Performance as Code (=Configuration as Code). This session should start a discussion among performance leaders in the space to come up with a proposal for a standard!
