Showcasing some in-depth monitoring tools and best practices for analyzing monitoring and looking into performance issues.
I will be showcasing a method i frequently use to analyse performance monitoring or use to teach new performance engineers. More than often i find many performance testers/engineers only looking in to the usages(%) of different recourse counters. There are many tools available that will give an more in-depth view in hardware resource usage.
Going beyond the usage will open up an enormous amount information about system performance. The previous will enable you to make the correct conclusion about the recourse usage during a performancetest. During the presentation I will be giving a live demo with tools like nmon and a collections of tools from the BCC collection. Secondly i will give a brief introduction in to the USE method i use to analyse monitoring.
Twan started working in the IT industry around 5 years ago and started in a testing role. After a short time Twan was mostly working on technical testing projects and start programming. Being involved into software development Twan grew his knowledge of software engineering and testing. At Sogeti Twan grew into his role as performance engineer. From his first performance test project he knew this was the specialisme he wants to be working in. Twan has advised multiple organisation on how to implement performance testing in to an Agile way of working. Having runned many performance tests and done many analyses he gained much technical skills to advice on performance engineering and analysing performance issues.
