Neotys Partners with Platform Lab, America’s Only Non-profit IT Test and Training Facility to Provide Affordable Stress and Load Testing of Web Applications

Everest Technologies Successfully Leverages NeoLoad / Platform Lab Solution to Effectively Conduct Stress and Load Tests

Merrimack, NH – September 23, 2008

Neotys, a leader in easy-to-use, cost effective stress and load testing tools for web applications, today announced that it has partnered with Platform Lab, the nation’s only non-profit IT test and training facility.

This partnership enables Platform Lab customers to have access to Neotys’ NeoLoad, a web stress testing software that runs high-load scenarios on web applications to measure performance and robustness prior to deployment.

Platform Lab is a non-profit IT test and training facility unique in the United States. It provides a resource for firms looking to expand testing and create better solutions while avoiding unnecessary expenditures. Platform Lab customers have access to an entire testing environment designed to their specifications, encompassing hardware, software, bandwidth, space, network and initial application configuration. Utilized by more than 170 firms nationwide, common projects include load/stress testing, disaster recovery validation, IT training, vendor evaluation and proof of concept validation. The goal is to make IT testing exceptionally affordable so that more companies will verify solutions prior to implementation. Most projects conducted at Platform Lab incur resource costs 90% less than that of the client’s current test solutions.

Everest Technologies, a leading IT service provider based in Columbus, Ohio regularly works with Platform Lab to conduct load testing engagements for Platform Lab customers. Load testing, which involves subjecting a system with simulated virtual users and monitoring the end-to-end performance, has become tremendously important to many organizations due to the high growth of web-based applications. Everest recently started using Neotys’ NeoLoad load testing product and found it to be far superior to other products available in the market.

“During a recent engagement, NeoLoad performed beautifully when we needed to simulate load on a client’s application,” said Bob Malik, vice president of Everest Technologies. “Unlike other tools that required extensive scripting, NeoLoad simply worked on the first try. Its easy-to-use GUI interface requires no scripting and provides a rich feature set at a cost-effective price point. I find NeoLoad to be an excellent choice for load and stress testing due to its intuitive graphical user interface, distributed architecture, its ability to accommodate plug-in modules for additional functionality and overall ease of setting up load testing scenarios.”

“This is another great example how organizations can access best in class load testing tools using high bandwidth at a fraction of the cost of traditional ISPs,” said Steve Gruetter, director of Platform Lab. “We offer the flexibility that companies cannot achieve on their own. Rather needing to adhere to rigid pricing structures that require organizations to purchase bandwidth for a minimum of 30 days and at the level of highest projected usage, Platform Lab offers per day and per megabit pricing. This unique business model has helped companies ranging from retail giants to smaller companies and start-ups effectively control costs while they improve the quality of their online presence.”
