One may say, “It is rocket science!” For you, I have the below illustration, providing a quick and easy introduction into a telemetry system. I believe this image provides a great illustration and depiction of the value of telemetry (and the criticality it plays) within our complex environments and systems of modern times.

In today’s continued focus on transformation to Agile, DevOps and SRE many teams and organizations are challenged to achieve success.

We will explore 5 key elements throughout your application development, architecture engineering, and production management; so, to deliver against the goals and objectives of the modern transforming technology organizations in business today.

What are the 5 key elements?

Let’s take a walk through the A-B-C’s of Telemetry in these 3 big sections.


Often starting with a ‘Problem Statement’ to understand why we are looking to solve what problem. Here we can see many of the results from DevOps transformations, as defined and shared from research across industry and geographies, which you can see referenced with links for each. These are the types of results many organizations are trying to achieve, when the buzzwords of “Agile, DevOps and SRE” are thrown about, and strategic roadmaps and investments set to achieve those buzzwords.


Moving from buzzwords and strategic roadmaps and investments, to what actually do we need to deliver, so to achieve the types of results research has shown is the next hurdle.
