Challenges

We were looking for a Web Application Load Testing tool to ensure that our applications work efficiently and reliably in a demanding and distributed production environment.

We had not previously carried out load testing.

Application tested: an internal scientific business application consisting of a Web Server and Application Server system, working together to serve a number of diverse groups within the company.

Solution

NeoLoad offered the features that we needed.

We performed two types of testing

• Simulation Tests – the primary time- and resource-consuming features in the application. A simulation test is a single mouse-click operation for our Web Server, but a huge process operation for our Application Server.
• Browsing Tests – consisted of several scenarios, each of which has a unique testing sequence. We used it for Web Application Load and stress testing. The Application Server participation in this case was minimal.

With NeoLoad we were able to ensure that our applications were able to function accurately and reliably in a real-world production environment.

Test Results and Added Value

NeoLoad’s value to our business consists in reduced risk, improved software quality, reduced errors.

We will continue to use NeoLoad load testing for our existing application’s future releases – these tests are performed every time a build is created. We will also be using NeoLoad to test new applications that are in development.
