The latest version of NeoLoad has the following new features:
Recording for all Mobile Applications
When the regular proxy-based recorder cannot be used for your mobile applications, simply use the new wizard-based tunnel mode recording to record any application, native, web based or hybrid, HTTP or HTTPS, from any device (real or emulator).
With two complementary recording methods, NeoLoad can now record 100% of desktop and mobile applications.
Mobile Network Emulation
Mobile Networks have the biggest impact on the end user experience and on server capacity. NeoLoad allows you to realistically simulate mobile networks (3G, 3G+, H+, 4G LTE,…) from the Cloud or on-premise. NeoLoad now offers, latency and packet loss simulation in addition to bandwidth simulation.
This new integrated capability allows you to check your SLAs for mobile users and load your servers under real world conditions, for no additional cost.
NeoLoad shows if the defined level of each SLA is met or not. This information is available during the test, in the results of the analysis, as well as in the reports.

Shared License Improvements
Timed Lease for Shared License
You can now prevent NeoLoad users from picking VUs from the Shared License for an unlimited duration. A configurable maximum lease limit now ensures that the VUs picked are properly released to the license server so they can be used for other tests.
Rights Management for Shared License
NeoLoad now requires a user name and password to connect to the License Server.
This allows the administrator to set-up rights for each user: access for each license, maximum number of Virtual Users than can be picked and the maximum lease time.

SPDY is a new protocol promoted by Google and embraced by big web players like Facebook and Twitter. It improves the response times of web sites. NeoLoad now allows you to test SPDY web sites so you can do capacity planning to prepare your future SPDY deployment. It will also ensure that your SPDY enabled servers are realistically loaded.
NeoLoad allows you to mix users with a SPDY-capable browser (latest Chrome and Firefox browsers) and non-SPDY users.
JSON requests and responses are now automatically transformed into XML format for improved efficiency when extracting data from responses, validating data or injecting values.
Now you can save even more time when testing json-based AJAX applications!
Support for HTML5 Server-Sent Events
Since NeoLoad 4.0.3, the NeoLoad “Push” module handles the HTML5 normalized way for receiving push notifications.
The NeoLoad Post-recording wizard automatically creates an appropriately designed Virtual User to handle the polling requests for each event.
Monitoring Data Import Module
When a NeoLoad Monitoring Agent cannot be deployed in a sub-network, you may want to analyze data coming from an external monitoring tool.
The new optional “Monitoring Data Import” module allows you to import data into a NeoLoad test result and analyze these data the same way you analyze NeoLoad’s own data (obviously without the benefit of pre-defined counters and alerting system).
Windows Perfmon is natively supported, or you can use a CSV-based file.

Integration with HP Quality Center
In a first step to integrate with HP Quality Center, Neotys delivers a plugin to be deployed on Quality Center that helps team members plan NeoLoad tests and track test status. See Documentation.
Tree View for Drill-Down Analysis
The “Values” tab of NeoLoad now provides a tree view of the results to help you find specific results or identify which requests make a container or a page slow. See Documentation.
Bulk Export of Test Results
NeoLoad now includes various options for bulk export, including exporting raw results (before sampling) for Containers. See Documentation.
Stop Specific VUs at Runtime
When a few specific VUs are running with a high number of errors at runtime, you can stop the VUs that are causing a problem and let the test continue. See Documentation.
Absolute Time in Graphs and Results
NeoLoad now offers an option to display absolute times in graphs and results, including reports. It helps in correlating events during the test with server logs. See Documentation.
Connection to Neotys Team Server Now Fully Secured
In addition to using HTTPS, connections to the Team Server can now be SSH based. For both protocols, the client can be strongly identified using client certificates or private keys. See Documentation.
Support for IPv6
Controllers and Load Generators can communicate with each other using IPv6. Load Generators can also test servers using IPv6.
NeoLoad 4.1 contains some known issues you should be aware of.
How to update to version 4.1
Provided you have a valid support package, here’s how to update your version of NeoLoad:
- Download NeoLoad 4.1.
- Install NeoLoad in a new directory (do not install on top of the old version).
- Download the v4.1 license key from the Customer Area.
- Make sure you back-up your projects before using them with the new version.
