Oracle Forms is Oracle's rapid application development tool (RAD) for creating and deploying cross-platform applications that work within a web browser, using a special Java applet. This technology, which provides easily-assembled graphic components, allows users to develop applications faster.

But can you test Oracle Forms?

Communication between the special applet run in the web browser (Oracle Jinitiator applet) and the Forms server (OC4J container) is in a binary format specific to Oracle.

To be able to carry out performance testing, your testing software must be compliant with this proprietary protocol. Moreover, it's essential for the software to display the protocol in a comprehensible way (in XML) in order to compile scripts to cover all your test situations.

Without complete and coherent Oracle Forms support, you will not be able to carry out exhaustive testing, which could result in the deployment of an application whose behavior has not been validated under load.
