GWT - Google Web Toolkit - Performance, Load and Stress Testing

You use Google Web Toolkit (GWT)!

Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is a JavaScript-based framework for developing up-to-the-minute Web applications. The product’s originality lies in an application code written in Java, which means the developer is relieved of the tasks of maintaining JavaScript code. With GWT, you can develop faster, in a familiar and highly-structured language (Java), without having to worry about the JavaScript layer sent to the browser.

But can you test GWT applications?

Google Web Toolkit optimizes the JavaScript code at every level. This means that the GWT compiler can even handle AJAX communications between browser and server, using a server component and a client component. The GWT RPC mechanism used is based on Java and offers greater simplicity due to its similarity with Java RMI. However, it also makes the management of the browser/server dialog more complex. This optimized dialog, which uses the JSON data format, constantly references the objects described in the Java code.

Your load testing software's compliance with this protocol is a prerequisite for carrying out your performance tests. Furthermore, your software must be able to present the protocol in an understandable format (XML, with the links to the Java business classes) in order to build scenarios that cover all your test situations.

Without fully compliant Google Web Toolkit support, you cannot carry out the full range of tests and run the risk of deploying an application whose behavior under load has not been validated properly - with possibly damaging consequences.

NeoLoad is ready!

Use GWT with total peace of mind … NeoLoad is ready!

Take advantage of all Google Web Toolkit’s features to quickly develop up-to-the-minute and portable Web applications! Rest assured, NeoLoad allows you to test all your applications. Get more technical information here.

« Make sure it works ! »

Thanks to NeoLoad, you can create scenarios to test your GWT applications' behavior under stress and validate their performances, while pinpointing any weaknesses.

Load testing your applications with NeoLoad means you can enter the production phase with peace of mind and at a reasonable cost.
