The values of variables may be extracted from the contents (header or body) of server responses. The extraction is carried out on the server response using a regular expression.

Use the Variable Extractor (accessed from the Advanced Parameters window of the HTTP request ) to extract the value from a page's content. It can then be used, for example, as a parameter for a subsequent request or for a content assertion.
